UMCOR
UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters - be it famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and to be a source of help and hope for those left most vulnerable. We provide relief, response and long-term recovery grants when these events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own. UMCOR also provides technical support and training for partners to address emerging and ongoing issues related to disaster relief, recovery, and long-term health and development.
Red bird missions
The Red Bird Missionary Conference is one of three missionary conferences in the United States. A missionary conference serves in an area where local resources cannot meet the needs; therefore mission support from the whole Church is necessary.
Red Bird Missionary Conference is located in the Southeastern Kentucky. It is the most comprehensive mission effort of The United Methodist Church in the United States, providing outreach and services that minister to the whole person (spiritual, physical, social, and economic).

Hinton Center is a United Methodist agency, and we welcome all — all individuals, all faith traditions, and non-faith-based groups seeking to meet, retreat, and/or serve in a spirit of acceptance and mutual respect.
Many of our guests come to make a difference in this rural community by participating in mission outreach, making homes warmer, drier, and safer for our neighbors in need.
